Parents under Pressure: Supporting parents and children to reach their full potential
Family Support Network is a community-based organisation in Lismore offering a range of programs and services for children, young people, and families.
Ingrained Foundation is proud to be walking alongside The Family Support Network and supporting their instrumental program: Parenting Under Pressure. Through this program, they are strengthening the skills and abilities of their service providers, and in turn increasing capacity for families within the Northern Rivers to support optimal child development.

The Lismore LGA demonstrates higher than average statistics, compared to that of wider NSW. With nearly 11,500 families in this LGA:
21.6% are one parent households;
22.4% of households have a total income of less than $650 per week.
On the Index of Relative Socio-Economic Disadvantage (IRSD), Lismore was rated a three (with 1 being the most and 5 being the least disadvantaged).
In our currency society, there is profound concern over personal finances, economic prosperities and housing affordability; social cohesion affects all levels of social outcomes. In line with the Foundation’s commitment to social cohesion, The Family Support Network is advocating and implementing community-specific solutions, which have been shown to be likely to succeed in the fostering of enhanced social cohesion.

The Parents Under Pressure program is an intensive, family-focused intervention that supports parents to provide an environment that supports children to reach their full potential. Their multi-faceted approach aims to create not only family-level change but also structural and community-level factors that impact on children’s welfare.
