Safe Homes, Brighter Futures
As part of our 2024 Grants Program, Ingrained Foundation is proud to have supported RizeUp to meet the needs of victim-survivors of domestic and family violence for a safe home in the Northern Rivers.
RizeUp works in partnership with domestic violence agencies to enhance the service options they provide. With a mission to drive awareness of domestic and family violence within society by generating practical support for families affected, they are giving them the hope, empowerment and ability to move on to a life free from violence.
The RizeUp homes program is essential for women and children to start again. The research that underpins their programs demonstrates:
One in three women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence perpetrated by someone known to them
61% of women had children in their care when the violence occurred
In the Northern Rivers, RizeUp has been furnishing empty houses with appliances, beds, linen, toys, and comprehensive furnishings tailored to each family’s needs. Volunteers assemble flat-packs, make beds and arrange decor, turning empty houses into homes free from violence - within hours.
Since July this year, RizeUp has completed 13 homes in the Northern Rivers, supporting 13 women and 22 children. Through the support of Ingrained Foundation and the 2024 Grants Program, RizeUp has fully furnished 3 homes for Northern Rivers families, giving them a safe place from which to start their lives again.
“The setup and support from RizeUp is amazing. They have gone above and beyond. I can feel the love, time and energy put into it. The small things, like having the beds set up and the pantry stocked, show they really care. It is so lovely and warm and will give my family a brand-new start to make a good life.”
As an organisation born out of a belief in reciprocity, with social cohesion and community capacity building being two of our key impact areas, we are proud to be walking alongside organisations such as RizeUp, who are bringing communities together and working to shift attitudes, perceptions and challenge societal norms in the Northern Rivers, and wider australia.
“Foundations like Ingrained are vital in enabling us to deliver critical support to those escaping domestic and family violence (DFV). We recognise the journey to escape such violence is long and challenging, but with your support, and in seeing the value in our mission, we are confident in our ability to create safe, comfortable beginnings for those who have endured the extreme hardship of DFV.” - Nicolle Edwards, CEO, Rize Up
